Yuki in Paris 🇫🇷

This is his first time outside Japan. He feels excited. He also feels worry. His mother looks happy before he leaves. She says, “Be safe, Yuki.” He says he will talk to her later. Then he goes to the the place with many planes and many busy people.

At the place with so many planes, there are so many people with big bags. He hears many languages near him. He does not understand them. He feels small in this big place. He worries about his travel. Soon, he goes on the plane. It is a long plane ride to Paris. He wants to sleep, but he is too excited. He also feels a little fear. Sometimes he feels a lot of fear. He thinks about his family. He speaks quietly, “I can do this.” He closes his eyes. He dreams about the Eiffel Tower.

After many hours, Yuki arrives in Paris. He leaves the plane. There is writing in French. He cannot read it well. He does his best to find the door outside. He feels fear because many things are new. He thinks everything is different. But he also feels happy. He is in a famous city. He watches people with different clothes. He hears music in the big airport space. It’s new music and he likes it. He needs to find his bags. Then he will go to his hotel. He takes a slow breath.

Yuki finds a taxi outside. The driver is kind but talks very fast in French. Yuki does not understand. He shows a happy face. He shows the hotel address on a small paper. The driver says yes with his head. The taxi goes on full streets. Yuki watches tall buildings and small cafés. People are riding bicycles. He feels a little lost. But he also thinks it is very good. He cannot stop his happy face.

Soon, Yuki arrives at his hotel. It is a small but nice place. A hotel helper says hello to him in French. Yuki does not speak much French, but he does his best. He says, “Bonjour!” with a happy face. The hotel helper also shows a happy face. Yuki shows his travel book. He goes to his room. The room is small, but it is clean and nice. Yuki puts his bag near the bed. He feels tired but also excited to walk outside. He thinks, “I will walk soon.”

Yuki leaves the hotel to walk in the streets of Paris. There are many shops, bread shops, and restaurants. He can smell bread everywhere. Yuki is hungry.

In Tokyo, he can buy some bread easily. It’s normal and boring. He feels no worry in a bread shop in Tokyo. In Paris, he feels different. A person in Paris can buy a croissant easily. For Yuki, buying bread in Paris is hard.

A small bread shop is an adventure.

He walks into a small bread shop. He wants to ask for a croissant. He points with his hand and says, “Croissant, please.” The shop helper shows a happy face. Yuki eats and enjoys it. It is warm and not hard. It is very good. He feels very happy. He also feels good inside. He asked for food in a new place.

Yuki goes on. He wants to see more of the city. He visits a park with green trees and a small water area. There are families having picnics. Children play with balls and run in the grass. Yuki sits on a small seat. He closes his eyes. He listens to the noise of Paris. He hears birds, people talking, and a person singing. He feels quiet and happy. Then he opens his eyes and watches everything again. He remembers Tokyo. It is like home. But Paris is new and exciting.

Later, Yuki walks to the Eiffel Tower. He sees a tall tower. Many people wait in a line. Yuki also waits. He wants to go to the very tall part. When he goes to the highest place, he looks down at the city below. It is very big. He can see the river and many old houses. He takes photos with his phone. He feels happy and good inside. This time is like a dream. He thinks about his travel. He is far from Japan. But he knows he can learn from new places.

In the evening, Yuki walks to a small restaurant. He wants to eat French food. He reads the menu. The words are hard. He does not know what to choose. He points with his hand at a plate with meat and vegetables. The waiter says yes with his head and shows a happy face. Soon, Yuki gets his food. It has a nice smell. He eats it. The flavor is big and creamy. He likes it. He thinks, “This is different from Japanese food, but it is good.” He feels happy and good for trying something new.

That night, Yuki walks back to his hotel. He sits on his bed and looks at his phone. He reads a message from his family. It says, “Are you okay? Do you like Paris?” Yuki smiles. He writes an answer: “I am happy. Paris is very good. All things are new. But I feel good.” Then he puts his phone down. He thinks about his day. He knows his home is normal for him.
